Future ALPA Representation of the Combined Pilot Groups
Currently, the pilot groups of Alaska and Hawaiian are served by their own separate MECs. The last step in the merger process for ALPA will be to merge the two MECs into one. Members of the new MEC will then elect new officers.
As the formal collective bargaining agent, ALPA is charged with negotiating pilot contracts and promoting airline safety and security. With the support of the MEC’s pilot volunteers who help run the union’s day-to-day operations, they work to uphold the pilots’ contract, maintain safety, and position our pilot group for the upcoming growth of our airline and continued career success.
