Today marks the last full day our two brands will operate under separate Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) operating certificates, with the transition to a single operating certificate (SOC) slated to take place early tomorrow morning. While the legacies of our carriers are now joined, that does not mean they are lost.

Beginning Monday, September 29, the Alaska and Hawaiian MECs will each be conducting separate telephone polls of their respective pilot groups, administered by the University of New Hampshire (UNH).

The JNC met for four days this week. After a day of preparation, the JNC spent three days in direct negotiations with the Company, exchanging passes and discussing several outstanding sections. Progress continued as we reached agreement on some smaller issues; however, differences on some of the larger concepts became clearer.

The MECs believe a critically important part of any future TA ratification process is providing pilots with comprehensive and unbiased TA information. To support that goal, both MECs have authorized the SPSC Committees to create an ALA-HAL “Fact Team.”
