Today marks the last full day our two brands will operate under separate Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) operating certificates, with the transition to a single operating certificate (SOC) slated to take place early tomorrow morning. Surf to Summit 2025 Tour: Stronger Together

In the summer of 2025, the Alaska and Hawaiian MECs brought together more than 165 families at 19 Surf to Summit events across Alaska, Hawaii, and the West Coast. These family-friendly gatherings fostered pilot unity, strengthened bonds between our pilot groups, and deepened engagement with the union during a pivotal phase of the merger process. Through this event, pilots and families connected directly with union leaders, shared their voices, and reinforced the power of standing together.

During joint contract negotiations, the Alaska and Hawaiian MECs have remained committed to organizing family events and a variety of pilot unity initiatives across our bases. These gatherings offer pilots and their families a chance to connect, hear updates, and share input as pilot groups work toward a unified future during the merger process.
